GRAS Launch Home of the Future at Homes and Interiors Scotland Exhibition 2008

GRAS were invited by Homes and Interiors Scotland to produce a proposal for a home of the future.  GR45 HOM3 is designed in response to a range of global threats faced by humanity.  By examining these threats it illustrates how they might affect future homes in Scotland and throughout the world.  Loss of 10% of the world's arable land and the relocation of 200 million people is a feasible effect of the 1m sea level rise predicted over the next 100 years by the UK government.  Combined with an increasing population, volatile climate and the resulting political unrest the desire for self-sustainability, compact living, adaptability and mobility will be significant.  To view the project click here.
